Need to Know: "Summer Breaks" & "Next School Year" Planning

Since we do not operate on a school year calendar at HomeLife Learning, you may enroll in courses and study at any time.


There are a few things to consider about “Summer Break” and planning for your next school year if you are following a calendar set by your school or your family goals:


If you want to give your students a Summer break, you do have the choice to pause billing.


Once your students have completed their courses to your satisfaction, you would cancel your subscription through your Parent Account. Your account with us will stay available to make it easy for you to re-enroll for new courses when you are ready. Your account stays active, but if you want billing to stop (pause) you would simply remove all the courses from each student, cancel the subscription, and then resume when you are ready.


Once you are ready, please plan to give it 5 full business days for courses to be loaded. As soon as you re-enroll, you will be asked to make a payment to confirm enrollment and restart your billing.


For example: If students are done with their studies on 5/27/22, you would then cancel each subscription as soon as you are ready. Your Parent Account will remain available, but there would be no active billing subscriptions.


If you want to resume and start new courses on 8/15/22, then you would re-enroll each student by 8/5/2022 and billing will resume on the day that you reactivate enrollment.


As always, you may enroll in new courses at any time, but if you are planning on a traditional Summer break and you want next year's courses to start in August, and you want your billing to stop, then follow the example above.


If you do not change programs that would require a new login, such as going from Ignitia to Edgenuity courses, your student’s login information will be the same, unless we notify you otherwise.


*Please remember, that we do not coordinate with any school, so you are responsible for reporting grades and attendance. Cancellation with us does not automatically cancel you with your school (not even HomeLife Academy). The two accounts are completely separate.
